Today i had my classes. Started the day off nice and early with a bowl of cereal for breakfast and then off to my comm class. took my place in the back row.
i think its going to be a really helpful class. we learned alot about how we communicate verbally and non-verbally.
In my science class we talked about science vs religion. it was a really great discussion.
In fact, all my classes talked about churchy things, and how Heavenly Father has a plan for us, and how faith and obedience are keys to success. and just seemed at times more like a college related institute class, rather than a gospel topic added into a college class.
had a headache afterwards, wanted to find a coke, and there was no caffeine to be found on this campus ANYWHERE! but on my way to college reading class i ran into Jamie, who i served with in Honduras. that was really neat! and maybe we'll be able to get together sometime and make some baleadas! :)
College reading was Awesome as always. going to start implementing some of the study techniques that i'm learning already.
then lunch was some more awesome bacon and eggs.
off to my dreaded American Foundations class. got there 15 minutes early to make sure that i found it and that i didn't have any chance to start off on the wrong foot with that teacher. several other students already had the idea and were sitting outside of the classroom. eventually the teacher showed up and asked us why we were all sitting outside and if it was cuz no one was in there or the door locked. No mercy with this guy.
So i score myself a good seat, not too close, not in the very back. sitting behind two cute girls so they'd get called on and not me. when the teacher pulls out a seating chart!
so we all move to our new seats. all except some girl named Maria. and so she's sitting in someone else's seat. and when asked to move she back talked the teach. he proceeded to tell her she needed to move and this wasn't a debate etc. she refused. he told her she'd fail the class if she didnt. she stayed where she was. so the cute girl that she was sitting in's seat came and sat in front of me (where maria's assigned seat was supposed to be).
class continued, and shortly after, Maria asked if he was being serious about failing the class. he repeated himself. and was treated with the utmost disrespect I've ever seen. she eventually moved. which meant blondie had to go back to her own seat..
the rest of the class we were all on edge and listening and participating intently, he went over the syllabus and the lesson for the day. Its not going to be an easy class. but i think it's going to be necessary and good for me.
Eventually came home, went over to walmart with Will and picked up some TP and a front door mat. (and some Coke.. just in case) :P
Did laundry.
Played some pool with two girls from our complex (Steph and Emma) idk where they're from or whatever, but it was good to play some pool, even if the table sucked, and the cues had broken tips.
Came home to watching TANGLED with Will and two of our girls from our ward, Kelsey, and Emily (who we just call Perry). it was good to actually watch the whole thing. at one point Will left with Gio to finish laundry and came in telling us about some inappropriate behavior they saw in Apt 23 (ironic much?). Tangled got over so we went outside (minus Will) and saw them making out on the couch, I wanted to pound on the door and have Gio and the girls witness their reaction, but Gio thought we should tell them we are on a double date and playing "bigger or better" and so we got a "finding faith in Christ" pass along card, and went to their door and were invited in, they were definitely caught off guard, it was really funny to see the girl get really excited to help us find something bigger or better than the pass along, whilst the guy was just really awkwardly making small talk with us. haha we got a banana for the card.
*sigh*
Is this real life? i can be on a campus that preaches in normal classes about religion, and at nighttime have its students being super borderline inappropriate? WOW.
well, anyways, time for bed.
